Valley Creek Bridge Expansion

Division Civil & Infrastructure
Client Department of Transportation
Location Valley Highway (Route 12)
Duration 12 Months
Year 2025
Status Completed

Executive Summary

Widening and structural retrofit of the Valley Creek Bridge. The project added two additional lanes, structural safety barriers, and replaced decayed support abutments.

The Challenge

The bridge had to remain partially operational during construction, handling over 25,000 vehicles daily, while avoiding ecological disruption to the creek habitat below.

Our Technical Approach

01

Install temporary modular structural bypass lanes

02

Use micro-piling machines to minimize ground vibrations

03

Erect environmental silt curtains across the creek bed

The Solution & Execution

We engineered a temporary structural steel span that redirected traffic dynamically during off-peak hours and used high-strength precast concrete beams for fast installation.

"Marion managed complex traffic layouts seamlessly. The creek environmental standards were kept perfectly clean." - Chief Engineer, DOT
